You guys should know by now that I LOVE attending empowerment events as well as being surrounded by women whose purpose is to tell their story to inspire other women. I, wholeheartedly, believe that we all are here to tell our stories to help the next woman become her best, authentic self all while finding her purpose in the world. This is exaclty what Women Empowering Women: Her Power, Her Purpose was about and what better time than now during Women’s History Month to shine light on Gabbi and her event.

A few weeks ago, my friend, Mrs. Gabrielle Steele, hosted her very first Women’s Empowerment Brunch in honor of her 30th birthday. Instead of doing the usual “birthday turn up” she did wanted to do something positive. The invited women consisted of long time friends, classmates, and family members. She also held a book scholarship contest that one deserving high school student received and complimentary prom hair and makeup sponsored by these black women entreprenuers: Shi Stylez, CoCo Moore Makeup, and D’Favors Beauty Bar. AMAZING! Gabrielle wanted to give back to those young women because she was once in their shoes; a high school senior excited about prom and heading to college later in the Fall.

Here is the lady of the hour, Mrs. Gabrielle Steele. As I mentioned earlier, Gabbi planned this wonderful event in celebration of her 30th birthday which was on Valentine’s Day. Full time she’s a corporate bae, wife, and mother! In addition of being corporate bae, she has her own event planning business called Steele Unique Weddings & Events. If you’re wondering, yes she planned and designed her own event!

Just look at the table set up! It was so gorgeous and a breath of fresh air. She chose her colors to be pink, gold and white with beautiful Hydrangea flower arrangements.

She also chose to give us a brunch buffet and it was THE BOMB! On the menu was Strawberry Cheesecake Waffles, Chicken, breakfast potatoes, fruit, bacon, sausage, Shrimp & Grits and Strawberry Pineapple mimosas. OH. MY. GOD.! The food was delicious and prepared the by another black owned, woman owned business Simone’s Kitchen ATL, LLC. I highly suggest her if you’re in need of a caterer for your next event!

Thank you Simone for the food hunny! You did that!

I always love when powerful speakers are invited to events to tell their stories, speak life over the attendees, to encourage and most importantly be themselves. Gabbi did an excellent job when she chose to have Ms. Lauren Ward speak. She talked to us about how our purpose(s) will come from God in his perfect timing, we must be patient, we must not only ask for our desires but be specific with them, trust and believe in ourselves and Him. There will be times when we don’t understand the process but we must know that greater good is coming to us. She also reminded us to always empower our sisters! Our blessings won’t stop just because we help another sista out. We must uplift each other in everything and know that what is for us will be for us.

Thank you Lauren for an amazing word!

To wrap up this amazing event, these are the high school girls who entered the giveaway with Gabbi and the essay judges. The ladies, according to the judges, all wrote excellent essay but only one was to win the $500 book scholarship. However, the other three ladies will be getting their prom hair and/or makeup done by the sponsors I mentioned at the beginning. Gabbi made sure that each one of them walked away with something.

Listen, this event was needed. It was inspirational, empowering, uplifting and made everyone believe in themselves to go after every dream and vision we imagine. To see those high school girls excited about going to college and say exactly what they plan to do was amazing! We must set examples for the next generation after us to give hope for their future. Do not sit quiet on your dreams, visions, or talents because the world truly need us powerful women to make things happen. During the process of making those visions come to life, don’t EVA forget to help, empower, uplift and collaborate with another sista!
