You guys should know by now that I LOVE attending empowerment events as well as being surrounded by women whose purpose is to tell their story to inspire other women. I, wholeheartedly, believe that we all are here to tell our stories to help the next woman become her best, authentic self all while finding her purpose in the world.
Friendships are therapeutic. Friendships are lessons. Friendships are love. Friends are family. Friendships are not judgmental. Friendships are support. Friendships are thoughtful. For me, I take genuine friendships deeply because of my weird upbringing. I consider my very close friends like family and love them unconditionally.
Dayna hosted her very first event, The Bold Experience in Baltimore, Maryland and it was EVERYTHING! The decor, the speakers, the food, the music, the beautiful women, the inspiration, the gifts, the message…ah! She did not miss a beat on preparing this event. No detail was missing!
The word ‘no’ is such a character word. It’s funny because no one likes or want to hear that “horrible” word. *eye roll* Well, truth be told, I NEVER wanted to be told no or to tell anyone, especially my friends that word. I always wondered why can’t every answer be ‘yes’…ugh. However, that horrible word is so necessary.
*This still stands in 2018. Still growing, finding myself and purpose.
Welcome to HeyMissClark! Well friends, we have made it to 2017!!!!! I want to welcome you all to my very blog… ahhhh!!! If you haven’t read the ‘About Me’ section yet, I briefly stated that I plan to give you all natural hair advice, talk about my past life experiences, have a little girl chat, just to name a few. I am planning to use this blog to inspire someone in this huge world. I have been encouraged by so many beautiful women with their words and I truly believe that I may be an inspiration as well.
For my 26th birthday in December (yes, December... better late than never... right?) two of my best friends and I hopped on a flight to the Big Apple to celebrate and I'm SO glad I chose to take this trip and spontaneously at that. For some reason I wanted to do something bold and different and all I could think about was NYC. This experience was absolutely perfect and I can't wait to go back!
It's finally June.... and you know what means.... IT'S VACATION TIME!!! Well for some of you it is, because I know there are people out there who travels daily but I'm not talking about them right now lol! This post is for those who may need a little help in packing for an upcoming trip and may have overlooked some items. These are my absolute MUST HAVES when I'm traveling!
A month ago my line sisters and I decided to celebrate five years in Delta by taking a Carnival cruise to Nassau, Bahamas on the Carnival Victory. First off, if you've haven't been on a cruise before, I highly suggest that you do at least once in your life.
Somewhere in a notebook, diary, phone notes, or journal we all have come up with a list of things we want to do before we leave this good ole earth. We are literally out here trying to live our best lives; trying new foods, being adventurous, taking chances and making memories in the best way possible.
In my adult years, I have found myself caring a WHOLE lot about skin care and finding products that not only serves my sensitive skin best, but also products that really moisturizes it. I, first, discovered that I had sensitive skin when I was younger by using very mild and harsh soaps and lotions that actually dried my skin out instead of leaving it soft and moisturized.
Honestly, what’s better than a bomb red lip?! Leave it up to me…. NOTHING! In today’s blog post I am sharing with you a few of favorite red lipsticks! As much as I try to run away from a red lip, I just. Plus reds look damn good on my brown skin and full lips!
Today, I am showing you the products I'm currently using for my hair, where they can be purchased and a brief routine. I like to keep it simple and stick to what works for my hair, which has been trial and error for the past six years. But with time, this natural hair thing has come together... kinda lol!
You did IT. You chopped those inches down to a length you thought you'll never have the courage to do. You're either beginning your natural hair journey and refused to transition with two textures, you were inspired by someone who's been rocking their TWA and figured you can do it too, or you simply love the look and the convenience of a short cut so you went for it... and guess what?! GIRL. YOU. LOOK. GOOD!
There's always a little fear inside of us to be who we really are. Times where we fake perfect to be liked, wear certain clothing to be noticed, or simply give ourselves up to fit in with everybody else. I'm here to say true beauty lies within YOU.
“OMG! You cut your hair!!” and “Why did you cut your hair?” These were the two main reactions from people after I chopped all of my hair off. The crazy part about it is that this isn’t my first time doing it. My very first hair cut was my Senior year of high school back in 2010.
